Often in weddings, we distribute food hampers to the guests. While the gesture is thoughtful - to look after their hunger - the food items in the hamper are not. They are mostly packaged and processed foods like chips, biscuits, chocolates, cold drinks, packaged juices (sometimes a bottle of wine by the extremely thoughtful ones). These foods leave you with ABC - acidity, bloating & constipation.
Here's a list of healthy foods you can instead use for the hampers -
Dry fruits - like cashews, almonds, pistas, raisins, walnuts, dates.
Peanuts or chana - salted or plain, not the masala or fried ones.
Traditional dry snacks - like banana chips, chakli, mathri, shakkar para, besan ladoo, kaju katli, which can be made at home by a maharaj or purchased from a trusted halwai.
Nimbu sherbet or any local sherbet of your place - like kokum, khas, amla, rose, buransh etc or coconut water (fresh, not bottled).
Seasonal fruits - like guavas, pears, plums, grapes, cherries, strawberries, apples etc which can be eaten without cutting or peeling.
A small decorative plant - instead of the decorative wine.
