5 foods that will add fun to your roz ka khana

Often we get tired and bored of eating dal chawal roti sabzi everyday. To kill the boredom, we end up either eating outside or cook something fancy at home. Both these practices interfere with fat loss.


Here are some accompaniments you can eat with your meal. They will add variety to your meal, enhance taste and also increase the nutrient value of your meal. 


  1. Pickle - mango, nimbu, mirchi, gaajar-shalgam, lehsua, amla, hing, lingdi and gongura are some traditional pickles.

  2. Papad - urad dal, rice, aloo, sabudana.

  3. Dahi - plain or as chaas or raita. If you don't like dahi, you can instead do tawa roasted paneer.

  4. Chutney - dhaniya pudina, peanut, til, beetroot, coconut, garlic, malga podi and other types of podis.

  5. Gud/ jaggery - mixed with ghee.

The above foods are excellent sources of many micronutrients like vitamin B12, iron, calcium and essential fats, all of which are important for fat burning.


Next time you want to make your meal interesting and palatable, ditch the ketchup, sev and any such processed food. Instead add the above items.


Don't forget to add ghee to your meal!
